FANUC R-50iA Compact DC Controller at IMTS

CHICAGO. The FANUC R-50iA Compact DC Controller makes its public debut at IMTS 2026. The show opens September 14 at McCormick Place.[1]

FANUC made the new model for CRX collaborative robot arms mounted on autonomous mobile robots.[1]

That pairing turns a mobile base and robot arm into one moving work system.[1]

FANUC is showing it across assembly, machine tending, part transport, inspection and washing.[1] The company has not published the controller's price, dimensions, mass or shipping date.[1]

What it runs

The R-50iA handles CRX robots up to 30 kg payload. That includes the CRX-3iA (3 kg), CRX-5iA (5 kg), CRX-10iA (10 kg), CRX-20iA/L (20 kg) and CRX-30iA (30 kg).[2]

The controller takes 24 V to 48 V DC battery power directly. That cuts the inverter from a mobile robot's electrical chain.[1]

FANUC added Ethernet and USB ports for device connections, Python support for custom programming, and integrated vision processing.[1]

The R-50iA lineup also includes cybersecurity certification and password management for industrial networks.[1]

New CRX portable model

FANUC is also launching the CRX-3iA portable cobot. At 11 kg, it is the lightest CRX model.[1]

The 3 kg payload matches light assembly, inspection and material handling work.[1]

FANUC has not said when either the R-50iA controller or CRX-3iA robot will ship or what they will cost.[1]
