Maven Robotics Series A: $100M for 250 Robots

Maven Robotics has raised a $100 million Series A to build 250 industrial robots and start work on its next platform. RoboStrategy led the September 10 round. LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures and XTX Ventures also invested.[1][3]

The money gives Maven room to make more hardware. It does not settle how well that hardware works. Claims about the current fleet and its uptime still come from Maven and CEO Hamza Derbas.[1][2]

What the Maven Robotics Series A will pay for

Maven plans to use the cash for 250 Gen 3 robots and the first design work on Gen 4. It has not disclosed a valuation, deal terms or a schedule for the 250 machines.[2][3]

Brothers Hamza and Khalid Derbas founded Maven in Santa Clara in 2024.[1] The startup has concentrated on mixed case palletizing and tote handling. It says other factory jobs will follow, but has not identified them or released any results.[1]

"We're grounded in solving one customer problem at a time," Hamza Derbas told TechCrunch.[2]

Eight robots, one unnamed customer

Maven says its robots work across multiple daily shifts for a Fortune 250 consumer goods company. Derbas told TechCrunch that Maven has placed up to eight robots in customer sites. He said they work 16 hours a day and maintain at least 99 percent uptime.[1][2]

The customer has not confirmed those figures. Maven has not published an audit method, reporting period, human intervention rate or completed task rate. Its other numbers look ahead: the company aims to pass 100,000 autonomous hours by the end of 2026 and one million by the end of 2027.[1]

Wheels, two arms and a narrow first job

Maven's robot rides on a wheeled base and has two arms. TechCrunch reports a top speed of 10 miles per hour and a lifting limit of 30 kilograms. At launch, Maven documented two jobs: mixed case palletizing and tote handling.[1][2]

Maven calls the hardware, software and AI a general purpose industrial robotics system. Its website lists no model name, price or technical data sheet.[4] The evidence available at launch covers a much narrower set of jobs. It also contains no outside benchmark or named safety certification.[1][2]
